Embarking On A Journey

The business journey is a hard but worthwhile one, it’s a long and winding road. It's not for everyone, but if you're willing to put in the work, it can be extremely rewarding. The best way to start on your own journey is by learning from others who have been there before you. So once you have found your niche, take a deep dive and study the successful entrepreneurs that made it happen and what mantras and mindsets helped them along the way.

It takes time and energy to build a successful business. You have to be dedicated and hardworking in order for your business to grow and flourish. You also have to be in a place in your life where you are willing to make sacrifices along the way for your business to receive all of your attention to grow. You may need to give up nights out with friends or weekends at home because you're working on your product or service, but this is all part of the process of building something great!

Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.                     - Arthur Ashe

Business Pioneers & Trendsetters

A business pioneer is someone who has an innovative idea for a product or service and then follows through with the idea. This can be anything from a new computer program to a food truck with unique dishes on its menu.

A good example of this is Berry Gordy Jr, who founded Motown Records. Motown Record revolutionized the music industry becoming one of the most successful records companies in the United States. Decades later Robert L. Johnson would launch Black Entertainment Television (BET) becoming the first black-owned television network and the first black billionaire.

You can see this again in the genius of Oprah Winfrey legendary talk show host and founder of Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Oprah came from humble beginnings but through grit, tenacity and a gift for communication was able to turn a day-time talk show into a media empire, making Oprah the first black female billionaire.
